Follow-Up on Gibbs

To follow-up my blog last week surrounding the uncertainty of Joe Gibbs’ future with Joe Gibbs Racing, last Tuesday’s “Welcome Home Joe” celebration made it clear that Gibbs will in fact reunite with the team that he built from the ground up back in 1992. What still is not clear, however, is what role Joe will play in the day-to-day operations of the company. According to Joe, the lead of the company in all technical aspects will remain in the hands of his son and team President, JD Gibbs, while Joe’s role will likely fall into the realm of handling the team’s relationships with their sponsors and to keep revenue flowing through the doors.  Either way, no matter what capacity Joe Gibbs fills at the JGR shop, the team has made it quite clear that they’re thrilled to have the Coach back in the saddle.
