Since St Patrick’s Day is on a Monday this year (and falls right between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday), it’s likely to be a more mellow affair for many of us. Unfortunately I finished off my last Irish Stout (Murphy’s in the pub draft) yesterday, but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate - with food. And Irish food, as we all know, goes well with beer, even if it’s not Irish.

The Food Network has a host of tasty-looking dishes for those of you who are looking for a green night in, as well as some articles on Stout, Black and Tan, and other drinks to celebrate the day. Of course, if the folks of Guinness have their way, St. Patrick’s Day will be a national holiday before long.

Now, which non-Irish beer am I going to drink with my Irish meal …
