They may not be in college anymore, but prayers go o
ut to them all the same:
Corey Smith from the Detroit Lions and Marquis Cooper from the Oakland Raiders are among the four boaters who went missing this weekend after not returning home from a fishing trip, according to reports.
The two, who played together at Tampa Bay in 2004, left with friends Will Bleakey and Nick Schuyler to go fishing on Cooper’s 21-foot boat on Saturday. They never came back, and searchers started looking for them via boat and helicopter today.
Smith, 29, is a defensive end. He played for North Carolina State in college, and he had 30 tackles and an interception last season, which is pretty good considering he
played for the Lions.
Cooper, 26, is a linebacker. He played for Washington in college, and he has bounced around a lot in the NFL since leaving the Buccaneers.
The National Weather Service in Tampa said that the seas increased steadily from Saturday morning, reach 7+ feet that night (from 2 – 4 feet that morning).
Winds picked up to around 20 knots, and although there were no storms, they issued a small craft advisory that night.
Thoughts go out to the families and teams right now…I’ll update as I hear news. Hopefully, they’ll be found, healthy and alive, soon.

Well i think those dudes were doing something like drugs or each other. No one was paying attention and when thing went wrong, no one was with it enough to react. Or there was some foul play from outside their vessel. Perhaps they ran into some other boaters and some words may have gotten exchanged. People are such haters now a days. Hence the fake mayday call! I absolutely love forensics! The First 48 is my favorite! KVR
