If you want a Nintendo GameCube controller for your Wii, here’s a black third-party accessory called “For Gamecube/W-ii” for your taking. $19.90 for one.
The buttons are springy and in our opinion, the circle-shaped d-pad on this particular pad feels better than the cross-pad on the official Gamecube pad. We attribute its superior tactile feel to the complete circle design which supports the entire print of your thumb.
