For the ‘Core I: Game Quilts

Mario Quilt

If you want to eat, sleep and breathe games, here’s an item guaranteed to have you in game mode all through your resting hours. An intrepid quilter by the name of elyofborg, with more patience than I and a good dose of nerdiness, has created quilts bearing the classic gaming graphics from Space Invaders and Tetris.

And apparently they aren’t the only one to be quilting to the classics, because just when I thought “now if there could only be a Mario Bros. mushroom quilt; that would be truly sweet”, one appeared courtesy of Mr. John May.

These are truly a testament to the impact of video games on some people’s lives, and the cultural pervasiveness of iconic characters. Join the legions! Dream in pixels.
