I have a Ford Escort LX, 1996 4 door station wagon. It has 118,000 miles on it.
Suddenly this week, the steering column moved in about 1 inch while I was driving. I can't find a recall on it, however, the Fords Mechanic tells me he has never heard of this. I am concerned for the safety of driving it. This car has been extremely well maintained, and for all other purposes is super!
I now am very concerned about this situation and would appreciate any information about it. Please let me know if you or anyone is also aware of this problem and how it is remidied. Thank you
