In Domino’s Killed Her Puppy in 30 Minutes or Less, we recounted the tale of Odie, the 5 month old Jack Russell terrier whose life was cut short by a tragic pizza related accident. Domino’s corporate office blames Odie’s owner, Lisa McConnell, for not keeping her puppy on a short leash. Lisa McConnell says the same of Domino’s and its driver. After reading McConnell’s comments, FranchisePick.com suspects it was a suicide.

What do you think? Is Domino’s responsible and, if so, how should they compensate Ms. McConnell?

What do you think? Whether you agree with me or are wrong, I value your opinion. Share it with a comment or take our poll above.

I think this is a case of shared responsibility. Assuming $900 is what the lady paid for Odie, then Dominoes should pick up half of the replacement cost.

how dare Domino’s imply that it was the owners fault that their cold hearted jackass delivery person ran over her puppy!! They told the idiot that the puppy got out. Why didn’t he wait til they caught him? Why didn’t he stop? Sounds to me like he is either a future or current serial killer. I would have local police check this freaks basement for dead bodies!! And I would sue the hell out of Domino’s. Their nasty pizza is enough to sue over in it’s self!! Of course they should compensate for this poor womans loss. TAKE THEM TO COURT!!!!!!!!!1

SUE THE PANTS OFF DOMINO’S!!! Their management shows complete and total irresponsibility. I cannot believe that they said it was the owners fault theat their puppy was mercifulessly run down by a low life delivery person that didnt even stop after he commited the murder!! It would not be murder if he stopped and apologized!! I will never eat Domino’s pizza again!! oh yea, I never eat the nasty crap any way!!!!!

  4. sean says:

I was going to ask “Besides that, Mrs. McConnell, how was your pizza?” but I don’t think brenda would think that was funny.

Have their been serial killers who use cars as their weapons of choice? I mean, beside Stephen King’s Christine. And that truck in the movie with Dennis Weaver.

  6. PUPPY LOVE says:

I’m not sure if serial killers have ever used their cars but i can bet they have . That STILL DOESNT EXCUSE THE GUY FOR NOT STOPPING. All I want to know is why didnt he? If he had it may have been excused!

  7. PUPPY LOVE says:

for your info sean Domino’s pizza sux now and always has

  8. PUPPY LOVE says:

tell sean the pizza sucked i know cause all their pizza does

  9. sean says:

What does it matter if the guy stopped? The puppy was dead. What’s done is done. Why should his next delivery customers NOT get their pizzas in 30 Minutes or Less? Dominoes would have to give them their pizzas for free, and the driver would be reprimanded. Those drivers are trained to deliver in 30 minutes or less despite wind or snow or sleet or dark of night. They swear an oath.

I think your beef is with the woman. She is completely irresponsible and her actions are reprehensible. Instead of cooking a nutritious meal for her children, she orders the cheapest possible delivered pizza. You say it “sux” What was she doing putting her family at risk both vehicularly AND gastronomically?

Maybe if she wasn’t so self-absorbed she would have spent the $900 she wasted on a puppy at Super Suppers, Dream Dinners or Make & Take Gourmet, made her family a proper dinner and supported some proper franchises.

Instead of wasting $900 on a trophy puppy, she could have rescued a little needy puppy from the Humane Society. Then if it got hit, no big deal she could just go get another one.

  10. PUPPY LOVE says:

that is the most shallow ridiculous thing i ever heard, I guess if he ran over you or one of your family members he should keep going , why not you would be dead. An oath taken by a pizza delivery person is a joke. Any person who has a heart and is a humane member of society would have stopped at least for a minute to apologize as for the pizza being cold it could only improve the taste.
does any person walking down the street ask you what you spend your money on? How would you know the puppy was dead unless you stopped? FYI it doesnt matter where a humane caring person aquires a pet they still love it just the same. Why don’t you spend your money on some therapy to learn how to be a compassionate member of society

  11. sean says:

I am responsible enough to make sure all my family members are safe and secure whenever we have a pizza delivery. After this story, we started implementing a head count as soon as we pay the Dominos driver. One of our children stands at the window (they alternate weeks) until the Dominos vehicle has pulled away, whereupon they say “Clear!” and then come join us at the table to enjoy some delicious pizza.

We run our household with regimentation and discipline. If this woman had done the same, little Fluffy would still be alive. We have three dogs, one of whom we love dearly, one of whom refuses to follow guidelines and one that’s kind of so-so. If one of them runs out and gets hit, that will serve as a lesson to the other two as to why we have rules to follow.

Natural selection is essential to the development and survival of a species. Since we no longer have wolves or panthers to weed out the caninus lupus species, Dominos delivery drivers are all-important natural predators for domestic canines and felines. They serve the all-important function of weeding out those who cannot follow rules and guidelines, like crossing at a crosswalk when safe to do so.

Read your Darwin and you’ll see that I’m right.
