Scobleizer — Tech geek blogger – Because of my modesty, few (if any) bloggers realize that I am the one who put the celebrated Robert Scoble on the track to blogging stardom. Up til last year when I discovered him, Scoble was an obscure franchise blogger (see Bloggers alarmed at Scoble’s Deleted Posts, Cuppy’s Coffee situation, Franchise Watch: Java Jo’z, Emerald Coast Mfgr., Roy Snowden, The Death of the Blogosphere OR Who’s Killing the Cuppy’s Java Jo’z Blog Dialogue?) His big break came when I told him “Bobby, you’ve got great potential. But in franchising, you’re always going to be in my shadow. Find something no one is writing about and make it your own. Like the technology industry and especially Silicon Valley’s Web, consumer electronics, computer, and other high tech companies.”
The advice worked: Scobleizer finished #47, only 9 places behind FranchisePick.com. Congrats, Bobby! You done good!

FranchisePick.com was named #36 on the list overall, losing to such blogs as pet marketing blog Pawsible Marketing and the Toronto Dance Salsa Blog. FranchisePick.Com Dead Link Manager Sean Kelly vowed to beat them next year:
“Whether by quality, dirty tricks or wizardry, the pet marketers and salsa dancers are going down in 2009. You can take that to the bank.”

WTG! Congrats…
Yeah, sure and the bizop news gets snubbed just because we are canadian. Freaking Evan Carmichael probably cannot even spell “goalie” if you spotted him the g, o, a.
Seriously, congrats! But I am not bitter. Well, maybe a bit. LOL.
At least you weren’t ranked directly behind the Toronto Dance Salsa Blog… in a business list, no less.
So that blows your attempt to play the Canuck card.
I bet if you joined the Toronto Dance Salsa Club and contributed to their blog they’d pull some strings for you next year.
Hey, the fix is in. From the Toronto Dance Salsa site:
“Evan Carmichael, Instructor
After taking a few years of ballroom dancing, Evan found his way into salsa because it was more fun, less structured, and easy to find people to dance with.”
Oh, now it is all so clear. Freaking Canadians are all the same – hey, wait …
Congrats, Sean.
I suppose your Technorati rank beats me by 4, also.
GEEEEZ!

Spring is tomorrow!
What are you complaining about Joel?
Your T score jumped in a day from 38 to 80.
No gaming here, eh!
Good point, Mr. Webster.
Which is why YOU are the lawyer, and I am NOT…
Joel et al
Sorry, Michael, but you lost to Salsa Dancing fair and square. Be honest. Does The BizOp News provide the Life-Changing Benefits of Salsa Dancing:
Physical Health Benefits?
Mental Health Benefits?
Social Benefits?
Creativity Benefits & the Fun Factor?
Didn’t they teach anything about Salsa at law school? Does The BizOp News:
.. increase heart rate, burn calories and promote weight loss (Reza Solhi’s doesn’t count)?
…tone muscles, improve flexibility, coordination, endurance and overall strength
…promote good posture, grace and style?
…sharpen reflexes and mental agility?
…keep you young and youthful looking?
… increase self confidence, self awareness and sense of sensuality?
…provide a great way to meet new friends and spark a romance?
And finally, does The BizOp News have pictures of the smoldering Caryl Cuizon, Senior Instructor, Choreographer?
Franchise King Joel & I can answer YES to all those questions. And once you complete Salsa-Nightclub level 1 like The King and I, you’ll be on the list too.
Damn, I just knew that there was a really good reason for missing the cut. Silly me.
Sean,
{And MW}
My blog ranks 350,000 in Alexa.
Sean, yours is stuck at a measley 354,000

Joel: No offense, but Alexa is so Web 1.9.
I have another award that I haven’t even announced as I want to space out my accolades, in part because you take these things so hard.
On the bright side, I think you, Michael and I are all tied for for the “Who can spend the most time and make the least amount of money” award.
Also, if Cuppy’s Coffee or Bob Purvin ever start giving out awards, the Franchise King will kick my rear for sure.
Congratulations Sean. Thanks for helping so many zees that have been hurt in franchising. I expect big things from you in the future. I know your heart is in the right place. Thanks, Barbara
Thanks, Barbara. I appreciate
