Linebacker Freddie Keiaho, who spent his first three years in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts, has agreed to a contract to re-sign with the Colts. The 5-foot-11, 226-pound 26-year-old who went to school at San Diego State reportedly inked a one-year deal.
After not playing playing much in his rookie season, Keiaho has been active in the last two campaigns. In his three-year career, he has 207 tackles in 39 games.
At the beginning of the offseason, it appeared as if Keiaho would be headed elsewhere because the Colts didn’t make him a restricted free agent and he was free to sign with any team in the NFL. Though a few teams called him, he ended up not drawing a huge amount of interest. Despite a good chance that he won’t be a starter next season, Keiaho decided his best move was to return to Indianapolis.
Moving into his spot in the starting lineup will likely be Clint Sessions, who played very well at times last season. Keiaho gives the Colts a player who knows their schemes and can fill in when needed.
