I’ve been trying to figure out what kind of computer I need to meet Microsoft Vista’s requirements. I had downloaded the lastest Vista OS (operating system), burned it to DVD, but realized I had no computers which could run this new-fangled Windows system. oh…
If you want to test Vista, the first thing to do is to find out if your computer satisfies its feature-rich needs: Microsoft’s published planning guide will help you decide if you can even run Vista. I can’t… so I phoned Dell sales and offered to trade in my 10 year old computer, a Dell XPSb1000r, which still runs just fine; it’s outdated, useless and nobody wants it. My sales rep was unimpressed and said, ‘we’ll recycle it’ but we sure can’t take it as a trade-in.’
oh well. What am I missing out on? Well, Digital Dave at XP Central just reviewed Vista. It looks like I’m missing out on some freaky stuff… I mean… some cool features:
“…64bit version of the OS and had shutdown, not rebooted but shutdown my machine. It sat there for oh… I don’t know… two – three minutes than all of the sudden it turn itself back on…” [Digital Dave, WinXPcentral]
