Free Software You’ve Probably Never Heard Of But Should

Todd Lambert writes about some free software that he’s using. It’s not just because it’s free and that’s why he likes it. It’s also because it does things as well if not better as their commercial counterparts.
He lists four software namely, Whatsize, RSSMenu, Serverskine and Gawker. So far the only one I’ve tried is serverskine.
Severskine is a simple app that lets you keep track of your various server, hosting, domain accounts and their corresponding details . This works well for web developers who do a lot of work on separate servers and hosts. Believe me, keeping a track of them is a pain. Especially for someone like me who’s organizationally challenged. So this one should help. The thing is… the first time I tried it, bam! It crashes. I typed all those info and didn’t get to save it. Maybe it was a fluke. I’ll let you know when I try again. Right now I’m just too pissed off to give it another go… It’s late and my fingers are already hurting.
As for the others, I plan to try them out in the coming days. I’ll let you know how it goes.
