Freelance Writers and Health Insurance

moneyThe truth is that nothing about health insurance in the United States makes much sense any more. Freelance writers and editors have often had to depend on spouses or join a trade organization in order to be covered; more than I know how to count do without health insurance.

My personal belief is that a single-payer system is the only thing that’s likely to help not only writers, but the ever-increasing number of uninsured people and families. But it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen soon.

HomeBizNotes has a post called: Health Insurance Tips for the Home Business Owner. It’s got some links that address the health insurance issue, and asks for tips from anyone whose got any.

Write well and often,

  1. Thanks, Anne, for steering your readers to the post at Home Biz Notes about the health insurance challenge in the U.S…and possible solutions. I’d like to hear from readers/writers in other countries about health insurance.
