It’s worth noting once and awhile that the default on Craigs List is “no pay.” That’s why I sometimes publish writing jobs so marked – many employers never see that’s the default, so I do my best to guess correctly. I miss sometimes, maybe even more than that.

It’s “once IN awhile”, not “once AND awhile”.
Normally I don’t’ go around criticizing the writing of others, but what the heck, this is ABOUT writing, isn’t it?
James, you’re right, or almost, and I didn’t know that… the almost is that many sources say it should be “a while” although many say “awhile” is fine.

“A while” is correct. I realized that as soon as I hit “submit”, but there’s no way to edit a comment. So we both tripped on the same vine, in a manner of speaking.
