French Open First Round Results

Well, for some reason they started the French Open on a Sunday, which I wasn’t expecting. First round is now over with and here are the results from the women’s matches:

Maria Sharapova came out victorious in the first round of the French Open yesterday, beating Mashona Washington 6-2, 5-7, 7-5.

France’s own Amelie Mauresmo defeated Meghann Shaughnessy 6-4, 6-4.

Marion Bartoli defeated Aurelie Vedy 6-1, 6-0.

Ai Sugiyama beat Eleni Danilidou 6-7 (1), 6-0, 6-3.

Patty Schnyder defeated Michaelia Krajicek 6-1, 6-2.

Iveta Benesova defeated Pauline Parmentier 7-5, 6-3.

Dinara Safina defeated Vera Zvonareva 6-3, 7-5.
