Full browser screen capture

Jason recently posted about a killer add on for Firefox that’ll allow you to capture really long web pages as PNG or JPG. This is an awesome tool! I’ve used Paparazzi in the past for this task, but get frustrated when I can’t capture a page that’s behind a paywall or other authentication system. Sure I can pdf the page, but it’s not the same as a screencapture. Screengrab does the trick nicely.

When I first installed it, I couldn’t figure out how to use it. It’s easy: it’s a context menu option. There’s also a new little icon down at the bottom right corner of your browser window. Capture on!

  1. I’ve never heard of this before, but I’ve always wondered how it was done. This extension rocks!

  2. I’ve been using Pearl Crescent’s PageSaver for a while, and recommend it: http://pearlcrescent.com/products/pagesaver/

Not sure how Screengrab and PageSaver are different, but thought you might be interested.

In any event, having a one-click full-page screenshot app is great.

Don’t forget about the Firefox Add-On: Scrapbook. It basically is an offline version of the webpage… all the links and references to the original website are still active. More importantly, you’re able to quickly organize the “snapshot of information” effortlessly! Not that’s Slacker Management!

I meant to say: “Now that’s Slacker Management!”

The “icon” is available at the bottom of the screen and/or if you want, you can add to your toolbar too! Or… if ya really wanna slack… you could right-mouse-click… and ya have the option with out any effort!

I repeat what I said before: Now that’s Slacker Management!
