Gads I Can’t Add and Subtract!

Arghhhhh… I’m trying to renegotiate a writing contract and I’m having real trouble understanding the numbers involved… I sent what I thought was a clear proposal to the client and he’s replied, but his understanding of the dollar amount is quite different than mine.
After spending yet another half hour on this I realized that I need someone to help me… so I’ve placed a call to a friend and we’re going to have coffee later today and go over what I thought I was trying to do, how the client’s numbers fit or don’t, and decide what I’m really offering.
It shouldn’t be this difficult, and it probably isn’t, but one of the things I’ve learned about me is that I am not reliable when it comes to adding and subtracting, particularly in this case where some credit is due, etc. etc. etc. When it starts to get complicated, I rarely can figure it out on my own and I’m afraid if I simply take the client’s word for it I’ll be badly underpaid.
Thank goodness I’ve learned to ask for help.

Trust me, you’re not the only 1 that has these problems. I end up calling my dad whenever I’m stuck LOL
And the calculator can be a good friend! ;)
Best of luck straightening it out.
calculators are great… it’s my thinking that isn’t always… but I think I’ve got it worked out.
