Game Of The Week — NFL Week 4

Every week throughout the 2008-2009 football season I am going to pick a “Game of the Week.”

The purpose of this post is to talk about a match-up that I think is the most significant out of all the scheduled NFL games that are going to be played the following Sunday.

After looking at the schedule, my pick for the Game of the Week is …

Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals

Sunday, 1:00 p.m. — CBS

Reasons Why:

1. Both teams are 0 -3 going in to week for and both teams are in a “must win” situation. Unfortunately, only ONE team can win.

2. Romeo Crennel is seriously considering starting Brady Quinn over Derek Anderson for this game and I seriously think he should. Anderson isn’t the QB he was last year and he hasn’t done much with what was supposed to be a solid receiving core. The Browns need to switch things up and they need to do it fast before their season slips away from them. Starting Quinn might just be the switch they need.

3. The Bengals are a mess. Going into the season, they were considered to be one of the stronger teams in the AFC. Not so much. Chad Ocho Cinco hasn’t lived up to his new name and Carson Palmer isn’t doing much on his end either. Marvin Lewis is back to coaching an 0 -3 team, something that hasn’t happened since his first season. If the Bengals lose another game, Lewis might be staring at the end of his tenure in Cincinnati.

4. The rivalry. There’s nothing like a game between rivals and these two cities have a pretty fierce cross-town rivalry. Considering how much is at stake here for both teams, the rivalry just got turned up a notch! Misery loves company …
