Game Of The Week — Week 9

Every week throughout the 2008-2009 football season I am going to pick a “Game of the Week.”
The purpose of this post is to talk about a match-up that I think is the most significant out of all the scheduled NFL games that are going to be played the following Sunday.
After looking at the schedule, my pick for the Game of the Week is …

Green Bay Packers at Tennessee Titans
Sunday, 1:00 p.m. — FOX
Reasons Why:
1. Green Bay has proven to be a tough team with Aaron Rodgers at the helm. But how tough will they be against the Titans?
2. The Tennessee Titans are undefeated and after beating the Colts last Monday they have proven that they are the team to beat. From here on out, every game they play will be worth watching simply to see if anyone can knock them out of their top spot.
3. If the Green Bay Packers can beat the Titans, will that make them a solid contender in the NFC?
4. At this point in the season, I think it’s pretty much safe to say that the monkey of Brett Favre is off Aaron Rodgers’ back. But a win against the Titans will help keep the money at bay.
A few readers wanted a couple more picks for “game of the week.” The reason why I only pick one game is to highlight a single game that would have an impact on the league overall. While there are plenty of interesting match-ups out there, there is usually one game that sticks out from the rest that makes people think, “That looks like a great match-up. I want to watch that!.”
But, in order to humor some readers, here are a couple of other interesting match-ups for the week:
• New York Jets at Buffalo Bills 1 p.m. CBS
• Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns 1 p.m. CBS
• Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants 4:15 p.m. FOX
• New England Patriots at Indianapolis Colts 8:15 p.m. NBC
Enjoy!
