GameStop’s Nintendo Trade’n'Save Event.

Out with the old, in with the new, is the message that GameStop’s flyer for the week of January 21st is delivering. They’re offering all kinds of rebates on new Nintendo gear if you bring in your old system for credit (so that they can sell it for a tidy profit on their used system section next week). Bring in your clunky GameCube, for example, and score $50 towards the purchase of a Wii.

And hell you’ll need all the rebates you can get to be able to afford GameStop’s lone Wii bundle, priced at the absurdly high value of $579.92. You’ll get the system, a 1GB card, an extra controller, and four games that you don’t get to choose yourself. Yippee! Don’t bother trying to find the system or the controller separately, it’s this bundle or nothing apparently. For that price, guess what I’d buy?
