GameTrailers’ Gears of War review glosses over issues

If you’ve been paying attention to this blog for some time now, then you may have noticed that FPS Rantings is currently having a fixation on Gears of War for the PC. It’s only fair to feature the GameTrailers review on Gears, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.

There’s been a lot of focus on how good the game is, and there’s no question about that. Why do you suppose we’re giving it so much coverage in the first place? However, like the other earlier reviews, GameTrailers has glossed over Gears‘ PC version.

To be fair, the review did mention issues like constant crashing, but that’s the hitch. The review merely mentioned the issues but didn’t say up to what extent the concerns were. That said—the crashing issue alone is a game breaker that could totally suck out the enjoyment of playing Gears.

“This is the way of the PC.” WTF? The way of the PC is buying games that constantly crash and are virtually unplayable? The last time I checked all my games worked.

  2. Mike says:

Sadly, this is how many developers view the PC. Since they can always update the games, they rush to please their publishers, even if they end up with excrement.
