Gaming Addicted Hubby? Tyra Wants YOU!
Normally I would have less to do with Tyra Banks than I would a cockroach (I think she’s an overly opinionated prima donna), but I was guiltily scanning news on b5’s America’s Next Top Model blog TopModelGossip.com , and shortly found myself wandering over to the Tyra Banks Show website where I noticed the following casting call:
Does your husband spend more time playing video games than he does with you? Has your husband’s obsession with video games been hurting your relationship? Do you want to train your husband to spend less time playing and more time working on your marriage?
Things like this always bother me, just like any call for guests on a day time talk show. They invariably only allow the cream of the crop (which means the extreme worst cases) to be seen and heard by their viewers and create an extremely biased view of entire segments within their own population. In fact, I have a pretty good mental picture of what Tyra’s guests will look like in the end, and most of them will likely be MMO players, because most of the horrific gaming addiction stories seem to come out of that genre. It’s a shame really, that video games is going to receive yet another negative spotlight, and further marginalize the hobby as a dangerous obsession. Generalization is never cool!
Still the call is open until March 28th, and you can apply at the Tyra Banks Show
