Geico at SXSW

Last night i ended up at a party at Six again. invite for this was by special badges, handed out to ladies around the conference, suggesting they bring a man. The only clue was the badges had i heart Cavemen on them. If I’d gone to that site it would have been obvious who was holding the party, but without that clue, we were a little surprised to see the Cavemen turn up to press the flesh and pose for loads of photos. Now Geico has come up a few times in my quest to find memorable ads this week, but I still had to explain to my British compatriots the relevance of the icon, with the tv ads and the tv series. Geico was an unusual choice of sponsor for a party at a geek festival but if the number of cameras surrounding him last night was anything to go by, it was a success and they are going to get a lot of buzz. Live events, with freebies, can often give good press online if it all goes well! And yes, I did get my photo taken ;)
