Get Out of Your Clique

Once you’ve dipped your toe into the pool of networking (or once you have jumped in the deep end) and you’ve made a few friends.

Are you connected to those friends on all of your online networks? Or perhaps you talk to the same people at the offline events you attend. Either way, you’ve become part of a clique. Your clique might be wonderful, but it’s still a closed-off group.

For maximum networking effectiveness, make sure you don’t get stuck in the trap of only talking to the same people day in and day out. Sure, you can convince yourself its networking…but when you don’t get more clients don’t wonder why networking doesn’t work. Networking works very well, if you actually put in the effort.
