Get paid to blog? Why, I blog! This is perfect for me. Let me see that ad again:

This is for me! So far I’ve earned .07 through Google for my blog and while that’s exciting and all, I wouldn’t mind the opportunity to earn more. I mean, who wouldn’t want to be published and get paid for blogging?
Do you have strong opinions or like to review music, books or anything? Well you can get paid to do it! No start up fees or anything.
You mean I can blog about anything I want? Anything at all and I’ll get paid for it? The only thing my strong opinion has gotten me lately is 07 cents and a night in the….oh never mind. Blog and get paid. No fees either. You mean I don’t have to pay for the privilege of getting paid? Surely this is too good to be true.

I saw one the other day that offered to provide the liquor for liquor reviews (Sex Herald). Another one offered beauty samples in exchange for all the fabulous, life-changing exposure the writer would get. What is next? Food stamps? If we take the $5 per article or 10 cent a word jobs, we will have to get food stamps on our own!
Ack, foiled again. AC seems to be reinventing itself daily on the ad boards…
There are so many of these “get paid to blog” opportunities. I had a friend took an opportunity recently and signed up with one that offered a 50% cut of all of their advertising income for the blog he maintained. The terms were that he post twice a day. After many had signed up and started writing, the terms were changed to include mandatory posting in the blog, in the staff forums, chat room meetings, and going all over the internet and posting news about their new blog on competing websites to get the news out about this new blog company. Additional cash payments were offered to those who could get their blogs mentioned in the major newspapers.
In the end, it’s been over two months now and he’s not seen one dime. The “advertising” that this company has done is through Google adwords only and we all know just how well that pays. He’s getting out of it.
In a nutshell, blogging is fun, but you’ll make more money on your own than putting your trust in these “Get Paid To Blog” scams!
