When are you away from the computer do you wonder if your favorite feed has new posts? Do you feel compelled to check the RSS Reader whenever you go home? Do you live in the United States or Canada? Yes to all questions?

Then you might be interested FeedM8’s text alert service at Web-Alerts.com.

It is done in three easy steps:

1) Just enter the URL address.

2) Then you might choose “My Alerts” to filter down your text alerts to the topics you like.

3)Then enter your cellphone number.

Found this bit of news through the Download Squad here.

I can see this useful for anyone monitoring events as it happens – news, in particular major and financial news. Its a free service, save for the what the cellphone carrier will charge, and its only available in the US and Canada. This could be useful

FeedM8 also offers to make a blog, news, or any feed enabled site mobile ready see here.
