Ghostbusters: The Video Game on Xbox 360

Ghostbusters_videogame Ghostbusters: The Video Game makes me happy.  Does that make me a really big geek or does it just mean that I can’t let go of the 80s?  Maybe it’s a bit of both but something about being reunited with Peter, Ray, Egon and Winston that just makes me smile.

The game picks up two years after the events from Ghostbusters II and the coolest part is that the game’s plot has been written by Dan Aykroyd (Ray) and Harold Ramis (Egon), who were the original movie writers.  That should make the storyline consistent.

So, I found an official trailer on Youtube and guess who I saw!?  The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man!!!!  Can it get any better?  Yes!  The game will also feature familiar movie characters like Vigo, Slimer and Gozer.

Almost all of the original people agreed to lend their voices to the game.  Along with Aykroyd and Ramis, Bill Murray (Peter), Ernie Hudson (Winston) and Annie Potts (Janice) will be reprising their roles but Rick Moranis (Louis) declined to end his retirement to participate and I’m guessing Sigourney Weaver feels that being associated with it is possibly beneath her since she also declined.

Oh well, it looks like a lot of fun so they are the ones missing out!  I’m grabbing my proton pack and waiting for the release which, was originally planned for this fall but has been pushed back to sometime in 2009 (possibly June).
