1. Nope he dont like not being the #1 go-to guy with the team anymore and he will leave to go somewhere else where he will be #1 again.

2. Tony Stewart I think.

3. Joe Gibbs said they will try to get him into a few cup races toward the end of the year.

4. Kyle Busch is going to win this year.

My turn …

1. Yes, I really think he will. As I stated in the post, I’m looking for Smoke to extend his tenure with Gibbs as he branches out into team ownership at the same time, though I think he’ll do it in Earnhardt fashion and not actually race for his own team. The connections and resources he’d have at JGR would just be too significant to throw away.

2. Stewart

3. I’ll go with Roc on this one. I think JGR will look to be bringing their fourth team into play full-time in 2010, which means they’d get the ball rolling on that with a few Cup runs late in ‘09.

4. Tony Stewart. He’s still got one in him within the next couple of seasons, and I’ve said all along that I’m just not convinced yet that Kyle Busch is the real deal in terms of championship contention.

TC, I agree 100% with you on that … but, I find it ironic that in this case, it was actually a guy like Mark Martin that got the ball rolling on all the hype surrounding Logano.

I think I’m just as curious as everyone else to see how Logano does this weekend, I just don’t think its time yet to talk about him taking over for Tony Stewart or him being the next Jeff Gordon. When it comes to young talent in any sport, all the talking heads are quick to make comparisons to the greats. They are always the next Dan Marino, Michael Jordan, or Wayne Gretzky…

Tony Stewart is not going to leave a winning team to be part owner or owner of a losing or start up Cup team with no resources available and no talent for hire. He will stay with Gibbs, or retire after 2009. He may be interested in owning a truck team.

3. Gibbs will probably have him Logano two or three Cup races toward the end of the year. 2009 will see him sharing the #81 JGR Cup car with another driver, possibly Brad Coleman? to build up owners points, but it will be less than seven, so Logano will be eligable for Rookie of the Year in 2010.
4. Stewart, just watch. Dover begins the annual Season of Smoke, and he’ll come out on top this fall, because he is in one of the better points positions at the start of his hot streak he has had in his career.

1. I can guarantee Tony won’t sign again and will do something either on his own or with someone who will give him a peice of the action.

2. Stewart… the guy IS HOME DEPOT!

3. Not long… but I have a feeling he’s not going to be taking Stewart’s position. I have a feeling Montoya is fed up with Ganassi and will take Stewarts spot with Joe Gibbs.

1. I think alot of it comes down to which car he really wants to drive he wasn’t that pleased at first going to toyota but them cars are stout but I don’t think he’ll leave just yet unless some awsome deal comes up.
2.Right now stewart is the seller in a couple of years if all the hype is true he’ll probaly be very marketable but know stewart.
3.He will make some kind of a cup debut next year maybe a race or two.
4.As bruce said as much as i hate to say this probaly busch.

That’s soooo many questions Tim.. I can’t focus.. but let me try:

1: I would not be surprised if Tony doesn’t sign because he seems to have other options, but he did last time his contract was up for sale, so who knows.

2: Logano doesn’t have an anger management history and is a fresh face everyone has great hopes for and a sponsor is all about the media and advertising results.

3: Logano will probably be in Cup within maybe a season, two at most, unless there’s some major skills disconnect no one was expecting.

4: I am going to hate myself in the morning, but Kyle Busch is probably going to bring a championship to Gibbs before anyone else. (*smack!*)
