Girl Power from some smart cookies…

by David Zinger

Are you open to learning from an organization that often appears at your door selling cookies.

Bill Taylor offers an insightful 4 minute video on management lessons from the Girl Scouts. He maintains that the girl scouts are smart cookies because in achieving change and renewal they:

  • worked from the inside out
  • built the future by studying the past
  • applied a strategy of bottom up conversation and participation to start and maintain change.

Go ahead grab a cookie, perhaps a glass of milk, and watch this following video.

The Scouts do indeed know how to lead and manage. Here’s a video clip from a voluntary event I put on for 2000 Scouts at a Jambouree.

    Now, that’s Rock’n'Roll!

My pleasure – Having agreed to do this for the head of the Scouts in Kent, I was wondering why we had on the way there, expecting to be singing Ginggang Goolie and rubbing sticks to make fire. It was not like that at all and we had a great time as well.
