That’s why I’m giving away a copy of Intuit’s QuickBooks Simple Start for PC with a step-by-step guide to accounting essentials! You can learn about the benefits of Simple Start bookkeeping software on the QuickBooks website.
Important things to know
- This is not the 2009 edition. HOWEVER, it will get you started and help you create the foundation for better accounting if you choose to use a more advanced version of QuickBooks later.
- The learning guide is interactive and step by step to get you started, and additional materials and information are available from Intuit’s website.
- Simple Start is for first-time QuickBooks users ONLY. It won’t import from other versious of QuickBooks, only from Simple Start. However, when you’re ready to move up to a more advanced version, Simple Start can be exported to other versions.

I create my invoices in PageMaker, save them as PDFs then email or snail mail to my clients. I have absolutely no system to track anything and since I just incorporated my business and got an accountant, I was reprimanded for my disorganized financials. Guilty as charged! I was looking at purchasing this product, so I’d love to be in the contest!
I do my invoicing now by sending stuff to my Virtual Assistant. I would like to be able to do invoices myself and would definitely use QuickBooks Simple Start for the PC.
I actually use PayPal for my invoicing. Even if my clients don’t have PayPal, it works great. There is a feature that allows you to enter your address, so that clients can send a paper check.
I invoice several different ways, depending on client preference. Some want Excel, some Word and the rest I use Paypal, which I prefer.
I do desperately need accounting software. I’m pathetically unorganized in that respect.
I use a template I made in word. I make two copies of the invoice. One goes to the client, and one stays in a folder. Pretty high tech, I know. :)
