GM to Offer 60-Day Money Back Guarantee

With the “Cash for Clunkers” program no longer in existence, automakers need new gimmicks to attract customers. General Motors has announced that they will be offering a very tempting offer — a 60-day money back guarantee.

According to GM, customers can purchase a new Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC or Buick vehicle. If they aren’t satisfied, they will be able to give the vehicle back and get a complete refund. GM is hoping that this will make more customers consider purchasing a General Motors vehicle.

Said Bob Lutz of GM: “We think if consumers give us a fair chance and look at the facts on the things that matter most to them, like design, fuel economy, warranty and safety, our vehicles are the best choices – that’s what makes an offer like this possible. The Cadillac SRX and CTS Wagon, the Buick LaCrosse, the Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain, for instance, are all outstanding new products.  This new marketing effort should help us communicate these facts to consumers.”

The 60-day money back guarantee will be part of the “May the Best Car Win” marketing campaign that challenges customers to compare GM vehicles to other vehicles on the market.

“We’re putting our money down that if people buy one of our vehicles and don’t absolutely love it, we’ll take it back,” said Lutz. “We will stand behind them both in the short-term and over the long haul.”
