Where can accounting take you? Anywhere you want to go. Just ask founder and sole investor of GoDaddy.com, Bob Parsons. After serving in the US Marine Corps, including a tour of duty in Vietnam, Parsons cashed in his military education benefits for an accounting degree. He graduated with honors and earned his CPA certificate before beginning a long-term career as a self-taught software programmer.
And you thought all accountants counted beans! The truth is an education in accounting can prepare you for all kinds of corporate roles, as well as give you the solid business foundation to make it as an entrepreneur.
