Do you run a Photography Studio?
If so, there are tons of ways to go green, even though your industry makes it a big hard to avoid chemicals and the use of paper. Here are some great ideas and resources:
- Load pictures onto USB flash drives and allow your clients to take them home to look at them instead of printing of proofs. USB storage devices are better than CDs, since you can overwrite and recycle them to use with many clients. Here are some great cheap options:
- Use rechargeable batteries for you cameras and other equipment. I talked about how important this was back in May, so you can read more about it here.
- If you still process photographs yourself, rather than printing them or sending off your film, check out newer processing technologies that allow you to ditch some of your harsher chemicals in exchange for substances better for the environment. Silvergrain and many other companies are researching the best ways to produce stunning photography without harming the environment. You can read more about these new options at GreenPhotoChemistry.com.
Are you a photography studio owner? If so, what are you doing to go green with your small business? Leave a comment!
