The Princeton Review has long been an asset for high school students interested in college, and this year, they’re including a new ranking – a green ranking.
According to the Princeton Review, this new environmentally-friend ranking will look as environmental practices on campus, college policies, and environmental course offerings. More specifically, the colleges were scrutinized, with the reviewers looking at everything from food options to long-term green goals to dorm energy efficiency. Schools are scored from 60 – 99.
Of the top 100, eleven schools were named to the Green Honor Roll – the best of the best in terms of green-ness. Those eleven schools are:
- Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona
- Bates College, Lewiston, Maine
- College of the Atlantic, Bar Harbor, Maine
- Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia
- Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia
- Harvard College, Cambridge, Massachusetts
- State University of New York, Binghamton, New York
- University of NH, Durham, New Hampshire
- University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon
- University of Washington, Seattle, Washington
- Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut
While obviously a lot of things come together when you’re hunting for colleges, the campus’ green rating might tip the scale in favor of one college or another.
