Going Green at Office Depot and Amazon

April 9, 2008 by Allison Boyer

Buying green products is about to get a little bit easier. Office Depot has announced that they are launching a new line of environmentally friend office supplies day called Office Depot Green.

This line will include remanufactured ink and toner, furniture made from recycled substances, and non-toxic cleaning supplies. You’ll be able to spot the Office Depot Green line easier – the packaging is bright green.

This comes just a day after the release of Amazon’s Green3 category, a grouping of items from across the website that keep the environment in mind. Amazon now also give you the ability to create a “Green3″ list for your profile – your recommendations of three green products that others should be using.

Very cool! Thanks for the tip.

By the way, small businessess can help as well; not only the big global ones are in this game. Since 1995 we have remanufactured 130,000 toner cartridges saving them from our landfills. That is about 145 tons of plastic from a small company like ours!
