Today it’s my pleasure to offer you the opportunity to win a copy of Coach K’s new book The Gold Standard: Building a World Class Team.
A little about the book:
The 2008 US Olympic Men’s Basketball team won the Gold Medal, so Coach K wrote this book to memorialize his experience, and to share the lessons he learned from coaching so many strong egos. Many of the lessons are delivered through the lens of basketball, which you’d expect from a basketball coach.
His biggest lesson: Develop relationships with as many of the team members as you can, because you never know when you might need someone to step up and help out. GREAT lesson for managers at all levels.

How can you win?
Leave a comment about your favorite leadership tip. Include a link to an article or a book or a quote that moved you.
Contest closes Thursday April 30th, 2009 at 7 PM central time, with winner selected at random by the random number generator at http://random.org Winner must reside in the US. Please use a REAL email address so I can contact you to get your address.

Henry Ford – “Whether You Believe You Can, Or You Can’t, You Are Right”
I have return to this quote many times (it’s now on my home office wall)
It sums up so much about life in such a short sentence
Ralph Waldo Emerson: Trust men and they will be true to you; treat them greatly, and they will show themselves great.
I have found that people will live up to our expectations of them. We need to look for the good, and remind others that they can become great. This is especially true with respect to our own children. Have a great life!
