Golden Pencil’s Mission Statement

As part of his 31 day project, Darren Rowse is challenging bloggers to share their mission statements.
When I started this blog, if I’d written a mission statement it would have been something like:
To share my experience, resources, etc. about the business of freelance writing.
That’s not bad, but over time, I’ve come to a deeper understanding of what it is I actually do. Also, the shape of my business has changed. My new insights are largely as a result of taking several teleclasses from Mark Silver.
Today the mission statement is:
To help people get their dreams into words.
My website, Writing With Vision, spells this out in more detail. As you will see, the emphasis there is on getting your book written.
Which doesn’t mean that I’m not still sharing my experience about the freelance writing business; I am. But my emphasis is changing.
I find this is true of all of us… over time we grow, develop new skills, and look for different ways to work. It’s only fitting that our mission statements or our Vision changes.
Write well and often,

Two newsletters:
Abundant Freelance Writing – a resource for freelance writers including 3x a week job postings.
Writing With Vision – for those who want to get a book written.
