Google Docs Now Include Presentations

Bye-bye PowerPoint. Google launches the much-awaited presentation app for Google Docs and Google Apps. In the style of the pre-acquistion name of the Google Docs word processor (Writely), Google’s new PowerPoint killer is called Presently. How appropriate: a name denoting relevance versus a name denoting politics. This thing is insanely easy to pick up; I threw together my first slide in seconds
Of all documents, presentations are meant to be shared. Presently could become the single most powerful driver for Google Docs adoption, simply because putting presentations online makes so much sense. Furthermore, easy presentation collaboration would go far to alleviate the mind-numbing restrictions of offline slideware.
Next on my Google Docs wishlist: a Visio killer. Google should buy Gliffy.
