Google Interperts Cloaking

Matt Cutts to the time to address some issues posted over the past couple of months by Phillip Lassen in regards to Google’s Guidelines about cloaking. Philip initially wrote a post i back in November which commented that WebmasterWorld may be cloaking as it’s ranked pages are being redirected to the login screen rather than the ranked page itself.

Upon further investigation, Matt says that unlike the results seen by Phillip, he goes directly to the right page, ie. no cloaking can be found, but a big warning signal to WebmasterWorld of what is about to come.

In the comment section Brett, owner of WebmasterWorld, says that they have a new system in place and that, indeed, things have changed. He claims that this was done in order to stop bots and scrapers and that his site should not be judged as another Joe’s site…
