Google: No Mobile Phone, Only Software

google-mobile.pngGoogle put an end over the weekend to the much hyped conversation about whether or not they are developing a cell phone.We’re not doing a mobile phone,” said Alan Eustace, svp of engineering & research, and added “I’d like to find something that is broader, rather than do yet another mobile device.

On the reasoning behind Google’s new venture, Eustace said: “Right now it is very difficult for companies to deploy applications, mobile is a space where it’s very difficult to reach a lot of users. That’s a premise we’re thinking about.
