Google Reader Tab in Google Personalized Homepage

You know what I’d really like? I’d really like for the Google Reader to be available as a tab in my personalized Google HomePage. Just like the image above shows. Why isn’t that possible? As far as that goes, I think the various Google apps should be available as tabs. Why should I have to load another page to see those items?
Other Google apps I use all the time that I would like to see embedded as tabs is Google Maps or Google Local, Google News.

Interesting idea! It would be really nice to at least have the option to do that. One thing to remember is it’s often faster to switch browser tabs than Google IG tabs. Even so, it would probably come in handy sometimes, especially if you want to leave as small a “footprint” as possible on a computer you’re just temporarily using.
You can approximate that by putting multiple Google Reader gadgets on your Google IG page:

In addition to effectively giving you Reader in a tab, it’s got benefits like:
* You can quickly scan several feeds at once using _your_ feed subscription list, so you only have to manage one set of subscriptions.
* It syncs with the full version of Reader, so if you read or star something in the gadget, that will be reflected in the full version.
