Google Talk Follow-up

I’ve continued troubleshooting and determined that my errors with Google Talk embedded in Gmail may be exclusively tied to IE7. I opened Gmail in Firefox and everything worked fine.
I’ve gone through security settings and add-ons to see if anything was being blocked and didn’t see anything that I’m aware of specifically.
Anyone have any ideas (other than telling me to switch back to Firefox)?
I haven’t had this particular problem while chatting in Gmail, but I have had another weird problem. While chatting with people, they/I will not get a whole series of messages that have been sent. I’ve also found that this problem only happens when using IE7.
I know that doesn’t really help much, but just thought I’d let you know you’re not the only one who’s having problems. ;-)
