Gratitude Marathon – Come Join Me

Over the last few weeks I have been thinking a lot of about Thanksgiving. For many in the United States, we celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday. And that is great! It is one of my favorite holidays. It is or should be a time to remember the many blessings we each have in our life, whether you celebrate it or not. “Thank you” is an expression of one’s gratitude. But there is so much more behind those words if they come from a sincere heart.
How many people have helped you over the last year to achieve goals and dreams you are currently living? Who is that one person who had a word of encouragement for you on a really yucky day? Who do you need to say “Thank you” to? I know there is someone who has made a difference in your life. Have you taken a moment to say “Thank you”? Very specifically for what they did for you? Here is a challenge for you this weekend:
“Write a Thank you note! Send it to them, email it to them, hand it to them!”
I would
love to have a Gratitude Marathon this weekend. Can you take a moment and leave a comment! Say thank you to someone right here at Interview Chatter. Tell your story. What did they do? How did it help you? Why are you grateful?
On A Personal Note: Here is my Thank You Note!
On November 3, 2006 I wrote my first blog post ever. I hardly knew what a blog was this time last year. I heard about them, I was curious about them, but I truly didn’t understand what blogs were, and how valuable they would become to me. But a gentleman I met, Doug Hanna, former Channel Editor here at B5media Business Channel, gave me an opportunity to write my first blog post, as a guest on his blog, Service Untitled. That was the beginning of my writing, blogging career. Doug, I am grateful, that you were willing to take a chance on me. You allowed me to guest post for your blog! That was a big deal to me. I will never forget recieving your email asking me for my byline. I didn’t know what that was either, but I knew it was important. THANK YOU! Thank you for your willing to take a risk on an unknown writer.” Next month, I will celebrate my one year anniversary as a blogger!! I can’t believe it has been a year! And what a year it has been. I have met many people, learned many things, and mostly I have had the opportunity to write. That was what this whole thing was about for me. I needed an outlet for what was on the inside of me. I wanted to help people. and I believe I have done so. Thank you Doug Hanna!!! I wish you well as we transition into 2008 – A year of new Beginnings!!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Appreciation can make a day, even change a life. Your willingness to put it into words is all that is necessary.

Darlene, I know I made the right choice! You’re not only an extremely nice and talented person, but an awesome blogger. I can’t believe it has been a year either. You’ve grown a lot as a blogger and a writer and I’m glad to have been a part of that. :)
Keep up the awesome work and thank you for all the help you’ve given me. You’ve been a great friend and colleague! :)
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving as well.
