Great Leaders Discussion Questions How We Define Leadership As Elections Draw Near
Many viewpoints and a lot to think about. My post on “Do Great Statesman Make Great Business Leaders” is worth reading for the comments and links especially those by Miki Saxon and Eric Eggertston. Eric wrote a follow up post with some good reader comments. Miki shared an enlightening post she wrote on “abusing the L word”, again with excellent comments on the issue.
We seem to allow position (CEO or Governor, for example) to define leadership instead of looking at characteristics, attributes and positiveness. The original impetus, Paul Johnson’s article in Imprimis, is worth reading to get a feel for what sparked these exchanges.
The willingness of the commentors to engage on this topic is remarkable. When several people get actively involved with an issue of great importance today, especially in light of the coming elections, we all benefit. Join the discussion so that we can benefit from your view!

Very interesting post by Miki Saxon (above link/comment) http://www.leadershipturn.com/leaders-who-dont-politicians/. I wonder if the power/ambition embodied in the process of politics distracts from doing the right thing leaving the carnage of people not served in it’s wake. Both politics and business suffer from this leadership vacuum.
