I’m running a little late with this week’s list due to travel. It will return to being a Monday list next week!
Normally, this site caters to the small business owner, but I’m willing to bet that many of you reading here are just professionals in your field. So, to you, I’m bringing “Green Jobs from Home.” Posted every Monday, this list will ONLY include telecommuting jobs related to the environment (most will be for writing and web design jobs, but you never know what I’ll find).
So, check back every Monday afternoon for a list of green jobs you can do from home. Today’s list:
Environmental/Outdoor Educator: This job isn’t really virtual, but it is open to people from across the US. They’re looking for people to be group leaders and teachers in a 5-day residential program (essentially, a camp counselor). You’ll get a weekly stipend plus room and board. They’re hiring people now to start in March. Read more here.
Virtual Senior Java Engineer: National Security Technologies, LCC (the prime contractor to the US Department of Energy) is looking for candidates with experience in Java development, JFC/Swing, OOAD and design patterns, JavaFX or Adobe Flex, and other Java technologies. This position is based in California, but telecommuting will also be considered. Read more here.
Freelance Writer/Editor: Project Porchlight, Inc. is looking for a temporary writer/editor for their blog, articles, press releases, interviews, etc. Their campaign focuses on distributing CFLs to people to promote responsible energy choices. Read more here.
Passionate Bloggers: Care2 is looking for bloggers to write about animal welfare, global warming, green fashion, organic gardening, and a number of other topics. Pay is per post, dependent on experience, with potential traffic bonuses. Read more here.
You can find more freelance writing jobs here (though they are not all green-related), and you can find more green-related jobs here (though some of them are location-specific or full-time).
Note: These jobs, unless otherwise noted, are not offered from b5media or Greener Assets, so apply with caution. If you come across any jobs that you think are spam or scams, please contact me right away so I can remove it. Also contact me if you have a green telecommute job opening that you’d like me to list next week! Paying jobs only please!
