Resolution #7: Offer at least one green choice for your consumers.
No matter what your industry, you can offer a green choice to your consumers. In some businesses, that means a really expensive option, but that’s fine. The point is that you’re giving people the option. If you have to charge double as much for it to be cost effective, that’s fine. Don’t compromise your business. Keep in mind, though, that for some people, going green is a way of life and money is no object.
How can you offer green options? Try these tips:
- If you have a product-based business, offer a product made with more efficient or recycled materials.
- If you have a service-based business, offer a package where you use only green products to complete your service (like green cleaning products, green papers, etc)
- Think outside of the box and add an entirely new green sector to your business!
Going green can be expensive at times. Is it worth it? From a moral standpoint, yes. From a business standpoint? YES! even through going green can cost a lot of money, in most cases, you’ll see that money returned over time. Of course, you still have to make smart business decisions, but consumers really respond to the green movement.

Good article. Going “Green” is the new thing. Companies around the world are starting to become more economical and environmental. The “Green’ing of America” is probably going to be the term or concept of 2009. Your suggestions are a good start for many small and medium businesses looking to follow along this path.
