Green to Save Green Tips 76-80

You don’t need to sacrifice profits to go green with your small business. In fact, going green might save your business some money! In this Green to Save Green series, I’m challenging readers to make 101 environmental changes over the next 1001 days.

Here are Tips 76 – 80, all based on your Restrooms. For the rest of your challenge tips, head to this post. If you’re making any (or all!) of these changes with your small business, let me know by leaving a comment!

Tip #76: Go for green cleaning products. You definitely want your restrooms to be clean for your employees, but you don’t have to use harsh chemicals. Purchase green products like the ones found here, or explore new greener products available from some of your favorite companies. These options aren’t any more expensive than regular cleaning products.

Tip #77: Check out recycled toilet paper options. Often, these options are the same price or cheaper.

Tip #78: Close your restrooms to the public. If you own a restaurant or other such business, you obviously can’t do this, but small businesses don’t all have to provide restrooms. By keeping them employee-only, you’ll cut down on cleaning and paper products, as well as as water and electricity usage, which is better for the budget and the environment.

Tip #79: Go green from the start. If you’re building or renovating, consider going all out with a green restroom. You can find some great tips here. The up front costs are higher, but you’ll save money on energy and water in the end.

Tip #80: Use single paper towel sheets. When people crank as much as they want, they often take more than they need. Single sheets are much more efficient. Make sure you look for recyclable options!

Come back tomorrow for a continuation of this list, or head to this post to read more! Don’t forget to leave a comment if you’re implementing any of these changes in your own life
