Grunting Girl Gets Banned
Maybe they’re going to start at the bottom and work their way up. Or maybe they’re just out to ruin a young tennis player’s life. Either way, it sucks for nine-year-old Lauryn Edwards who was banned by the Mount Caramel Tennis Club for grunting too loudly when she played. The ban came on the heels of an opponent’s complaint.
Oh and the girl is diagnosed with ADD (who isn’t, really?). Not to say that has some sort of bearing on this except that Edwards’ psychologist prescribed tennis for the kid. Now how is she supposed to carry through with her treatment plan?
The best part of this whole story, however, is the girl’s idol. Yep, you guessed it, Maria Sharapova. First the kid and then McGrunter Maria?
