Guerrilla Marketing for Writers

I don’t know what it is, but like so many writers I hear from I don’t like the marketing end of my business. Some pros say we should spend at least of a third of our time letting the world we know we write – I seem to market in flurries rather than on a steady basis. Maybe it’s more accurate to say I’m never quite sure what to do next.

Guerrilla Marketing for Writers provides part of the answer. This book is full of things a writer can do to market their books, and much of it is adaptable to other types of writing, including marketing to individuals and corporations.

I suspect if we each did one thing a week in this book, we might all get rich.

Write well and often,

Well, it isn’t exactly residual but I do make a nice bit of income from advertisements on various sites that I control. The emphasis is on “bit” as it isn’t enough to sustain me.

The ubiquitous AdSense ads are one means, but I have been able to generate some income by way of banner ads too. I have people who have committed to “re-upping” for three years now and I am sure I can count on their business for many more years. The nice thing about it, is that they are already set up and all I have to do is remember to send out an bill once per year or once every six months, depending on our arrangement. Occasionally, I swap out one ad for another.

Eventually, I would like to generate some residual income from writing and I have heard Ebooks present a good way to do just that. Now, if I could only find some more time….
