Guitar Hero Aerosmith? Dream On.

The good people at Neversoft woke up one day and realised they just weren’t bleeding enough money out of the enormously popular Guitar Hero franchise. Their remedy? Guitar Hero Aerosmith, coming to consoles this June.

Will this even pan out? I like Aerosmith, but not a lot beyond a handful of their songs. Will it be worth paying full price for a game dedicated entirely towards them? I got burned once with Revolution X, you know. Spent a full twenty-five cents at the arcade that I could’ve used to pelt the seagull who stole my lunch that day.

Who am I kidding. I didn’t deserve to eat after playing that game.

On the other hand, I’m intrigued to see what other bands get their own game/albums. Unfortunately for me, I somehow fell in with Canadian bands who are literally unknown across the border, so I won’t be getting a Guitar Hero Tragically Hip or a Guitar Hero Blue Rodeo or Guitar Hero Great Big Sea. What about Guitar Hero Gordon Lightfoot? Man, that shit would be hardcore.

How about a Guitar Hero Arcade Fire? Can we at least agree on that?

Steven Tyler says “Yes.”

How about Banjo Hero Sufjan Stevens. Try to play Casimir Pulaski Day without sobbing. You win if you don’t kill yourself.

Bonus points if you don’t kill the person next to you, too.
