Half Hour Social Networking Marketing Plan: Other Social Bookmarking Sites Part 3

This is the final installment about the social bookmarking component of my half hour marketing plan. Again, this is to just give you a primer of the different sites that are available for you to submit your work to. In the end you won’t use all of these, I would tell you to pick 3-5 to really use. Hopefully these rundowns will give you a good idea of which ones will work for you.

I was going to really focus on some niche sites, instead I am going to talk about one specific one and then a tool you can use to experiment with some others.

Lipstick.com- Lipstick.com is basically a celebrity and entertainment focused social bookmarking site with a setup exactly like reddit. I have had some pretty decent success when I have written blogs within this type of genre and putting them on lipstick.

A tool to experiment with- Socialposter.com is a plugin for firefox that allows you to format and submit your posts to multiple social bookmarking sites. It doesn’t automate it or anything but it allows you to configure and tag the post so it is ready to go on each of these different sites. Currently it works with 43 different social bookmarking sites, ranging from the big names to country specific sites.

Using social poster is a good way to experiment with your blogs and what will gain traction. Initially before you create a routine maybe you want to submit your story to all of these one day to see what type of traffic you get. It is an interesting tool to help you develop your social bookmarking strategy.

Next: Using some familiar friends…. MySpace, Hi-5, Blogcatalog, and MyBlogLog
